For my DayDream video project, I wanted to do a dream-like depiction of the inside of a blender. I wanted to start off my project with a real life clip of me putting fruit and vegetables inside of a blender. Then, as I turn on the blender and press the start button, the scene focuses on the spinning blade inside the blender. This begins to turn into a hallucination and eventually becomes a complete abstraction. Now the scene focuses on a human figure being stranded in the water and a shark approaching in the distance. I want there to be a stark contrast between being at ease in the beginning and then being stressed and terrified. In other words, it quickly goes from being in a state of calm to a state of fear. The sharp teeth on the shark are symbolic of the blades in the blender during psychosis. Eventually, the scene transitions back to reality and focuses on pouring the blended smoothie into a glass and going on with the rest of your day. The effects that I want to experiment with are rotating and bouncing the waves and human figures in the water. I also want to use animations to make abstract hallucinations and spirals with new filters and color schemes. Overall, I want there to be so much going on in my animation that it is overwhelming and a complete change from the initial everyday mundane with preparing a smoothie in the blender. Focusing on creating smooth transitions is vital to telling the story creatively.
